KdentsTV

Where students channel creativity.

At Cadence, we believe in empowering young people to pursue their artistic education with professional artists. During uncertain times, filmmaking and storytelling offer a creative outlet for our students to take charge of something important. That's why we've been collaborating with youth, college students, and film professionals to develop new methods of storytelling, even remotely.

Out of this collaboration came KdentsTV, which launched in June 2020 as a YouTube channel where students can channel their creativity. Our first web series, Quaranteens, was a web-reality show featuring high school students documenting their lives in quarantine. Since then, we've launched a social justice show called P.O.C., the Summer Palooza Music Festival, KdentsRADIO, Wellness for Artists, film festivals and contests, and the teen-created web series, Bloodlines. All of these programs were created by students, mentored by adults.

These programs are not only fun but also develop critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, information literacy, media literacy, technology literacy, flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity, and social skills. The program includes Virginia Department of Education Standards of Learning in the areas of Computer Tech, English, Theatre Arts, Visual Arts, and Music Arts.

We're excited to announce that in 2022, KdentsTV was brought under the umbrella of Cadence Cinema Film & TV. Join us as we continue to empower young people to pursue their artistic education with professional artists.
